ROSS LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT TO DELAY TENNIS COURT AND TRACK CONSTRUCTION
Hamilton, OH - In the fall of 2021, the Ross Local School District announced plans to begin construction on a six-court tennis complex and renovation of the running track in the spring of 2022. RLSD also committed $900,000 of permanent improvement funding to the projects.
In November of 2021, RLSD engaged architectural firm SHP to design the projects and guide the required competitive bid process. Due to the currently saturated construction market, the competitive bid process returned one bid and that bid was $500,000 over the budgeted amount.
Due to the current district financial picture and the significantly higher bid, Ross administration has deemed it to be fiscally irresponsible to begin this new construction at this time.
RLSD remains committed to providing high quality facilities for its students and the community. Therefore, in an effort to improve the tennis court and running track surfaces, the district will instead commit to increased maintenance on the existing surfaces.
